Profile of Ms. Alberta Doe (FOUNDER)
Ms. Alberta Doe was born on 6th July 1951 at Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana and has two children. Ms Alberta Doe is an entrepreneur who is committed to affecting her generation positively through job and wealth creation as well as improving the quality of life of family, friends and business associates in general.
Educated at Mawuli Secondary School from 1965 to 1972 she obtained her General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (1970) and Advanced Level (1972) in Science. In furtherance of her personal goals and career development she received sponsorship from the Bank of Ghana to the University of Ghana Business School (formerly School of Administration) from 1976 to 1978 where she obtained a Diploma in Accounting.
From September 1972 – January 1974 she joined Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation now Ghana Water Company (GWC) where she assisted in the analysis and quality control of treated water at the Corporation’s laboratory. In February 1974 and until December 1981 she was employed by Bank of Ghana.
In December 1981 Ms Doe entered business. As the Sole Proprietor of Doequanda Enterprise in December 1981 she started with wholesale and distribution of baby goods and vehicle spare parts.
In February 2001, she up-scaled her thriving and rapidly growing enterprise into a limited liability company through the incorporation of Doequanda Enterprise. She then assumed the role of Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors. After changing the legal status of her business she developed and re-oriented operations of the company to the importation and wholesaling of Wax Prints; Cooking Utensils, Acrylic Wall Paint and hospitality services leading to the setting up of DEL Hostel at Amanfrom, off the Dodowa Road, to serve the student community of Valley View University and other tertiary institutions in the catchment area.
As a further test of her entrepreneurial skills she, in 1992 incorporation All Day Forex Bureau Limited and conducted the business of foreign currency trading as Managing going concern to realize the value created and apply the proceeds to further boost the operations of Doequanda Enterprise Limited.
To crown her long held dream of contributing to the quality of life and health delivery within her community in particular, and Ghana in general, she in March 2011 incorporated DEL International Hospital Limited together with a long standing colleague and investment associate. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of DEL International Hospital Limited.
